SOME OF THE BEST ICE CREAM SHOPS IN MALLORCA FOR ENJOYING A GOOD ICE CREAM
Summer is a time for holidays, friends and beach, and with the high temperatures something that always sounds like a good idea is... ice cream! Mallorca has thousands of ice cream parlours and they all offer delicious goods. Today we’re going to show you a selection of our favorites.
Can Joan de s'Aigo (Palma)
Founded in 1700, can Joan de s'Aigo is Mallorca’s oldest ice cream shop in Palma and a must-see for your visit. It has two beautiful establishments, one of them right in the old city center with vintage decor. Their strawberry and almond ice creams are more than spectacular, and we recommend trying them with a traditional sponge cake called "cuarto,” or a typical Mallorcan “ensaimada” pastry.
Gelateria Can Miquel
Another legendary ice cream parlour in Palma and a place that has been visited by all the locals at least once in their lives. They have recently opened an annex to the main ice cream shop in Jaime III in which you can unwind and enjoy the wide range of flavours on offer.
Iceberg gelats Mallorca
This chain has six stores in Mallorca, and a menu with sixty incredible flavours, which go from classics to highly innovative ones. This year, their “Soller orange sorbet with mint and cardamom” received the award for "Best ice cream in Spain."
Gelats Paco
They timidly began their journey in 1950 and today boast forty-nine ice cream flavours on their menu. Many people say they taste like the ones of good old times.
La boutique del gelato
A few years ago it was known as "that crowded Italian ice cream shop on the Promenade.” Today, thanks to the quality of their ice cream and their affordable prices, the company has grown from having one to thirteen ice cream shops in Mallorca. The Boutique of can Castilla is very close to our hotel in Playa de Palma.
However, good ice creams aren’t limited only to Palma. Mallorca has many spectacular ice cream shops, such as the Italian ice cream parlour Cala d'Ice in Cala d'Or, Bernardini parlour on the promenade of Cala Millor, or Gelats Valls in Puerto Pollensa, which offers spectacular combinations of Mediterranean flavours such as aged cheese with dates or Jijona nougat candy.
Moreover, ice creams from Sa Fabrica de Gelats, in Soller, or from JOP are very traditional in Mallorca and you can find them in almost any supermarket on the island.
