5 REASONS TO PLAY GOLF IN MALLORCA
Mallorca's a perfect destination for playing golf. In this new blog entry we’ll tell you in a few words why we at our hotel on Palma Beach think Mallorca's a good choice for your golfing holidays.
Mallorca abounds in golf courses!
On this pint-sized island (you can drive between the farthermost points in less than an hour and a half) you'll find over twenty golf courses – from Andratx to Son Servera, and continuing on through Palma and Llucmajor, where you'll find the Mallorcan golf courses closest to the Aya Hotel: Golf Maioris, Golf Puntiró, Golf Son Gual and Golf Son Antem.
The golfing calendar's packed with competitions!
In summertime in Mallorca many sporting competitions and social events are organized to make the most of the warm temperatures and leafy countryside; from June to October the outdoor life comes into its own and over a hundred competitions are held, establishing golf firmly amongst the summer sports practised in Mallorca.
Climate and natural world provide ideal playing conditions
Over 300 days of sunshine a year make Mallorca an ideal destination for doing all kinds of activities all year round. The Balearic Islands' geographical position in the Western Mediterranean gives Mallorca a pleasant and mild climate throughout the season. On our island you can play golf on a course overlooking the sea or in the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range, which is a World Heritage Site under UNESCO's Cultural Landscape category.
It's easy to get to the Balearic Archipelago
Mallorca's a two-hour flight from Europe's major cities. Palma de Mallorca's Son Sant Joan Airport is one of the biggest and best-served from other points in Europe. There are also ferries which ply between the island and other destinations on the Mediterranean coast, such as Barcelona, Valencia and Alicante. Each year, nigh on 13 million tourists choose Mallorca for their holidays.
And what about Après Golf activities in Mallorca?
